Pilatesatelier Gent – Moving with purpose. That’s what classical Pilates is all about.

Semi-privates
(group classes equipment)

If you want to get to know pilates in depth, as a whole body training system, training on the equipment is an inherent part of your workout.

Joseph Pilates called his work a ‘system’, and you only get to know pilates thoroughly by working on all the equipment and according to the pure classical pilates method.

We call our equipment classes semi-privates, because they are given in small groups (max. 5 people) and are therefore ‘semi Personal Trainings’. This way there is attention to personal guidance and you can make progress in the most optimal condition.

During these semi-privates we alternate working on pilates equipment such as the Reformer, but also the Tower (with roll-back bar, push-through bar, arm and leg springs) and the Chair.
Each of these devices has springs, which provide both resistance and support. The springs force you to work from your ‘center’ and that is exactly what pilates is all about! These extremely ingenious devices challenge your workout and will ensure you make progress faster.

Below you will find more information about our semi-private group classes during the school year. During the summer holidays, an adapted schedule applies. Each semi-private group class lasts 55 minutes.

Note: semi-privates are not suitable for pregnant women! From 12-13 weeks of pregnancy, it is best to switch to prenatal classes or prenatal Personal Training.

Lessons are taught in Dutch. If you don’t understand Dutch, the English-taught lesson with Valerie on Tuesday evenings 8.15 PM is the best option for you! In pilates, the teacher explains every exercise in words, and only rarely shows the exercises on the mat. So a good comprehension of Dutch or English is crucial.
